Introducing Walled Lake Chiropractor Matt Thompson

I have always had a desire to help others and an interest in the benefits of healthy living. My goal is to provide my family, friends and neighbors with natural solutions to their health goals. Introduced to the chiropractic lifestyle by family members in the profession, it wasn’t until I experienced the positive changes it brought to my life that I knew chiropractic was my calling. An athlete in high school, I have always been active. After sustaining a season-ending sports injury, I sought care through the allopathic model which advocates pain medication and stretching. That failed attempt led me to chiropractic and changed my life forever. After studying biology at North Carolina State University, I moved to Marietta, GA where I earned my doctorate of chiropractic from the prestigious Life University College of Chiropractic. While in chiropractic school, I met and married my wife, Dr. Jess. We have been blessed with two sons, Cole and Cade, who were both adjusted within minutes of their births and have since benefited from continued chiropractic care.

Following graduation, Dr. Jess and I decided to begin our professional careers here in Michigan. The local hospitality, beautiful scenery, and great food are warm reminders of my days growing up in North Carolina. I feel at home here at O’Dell Chiropractic Center, and I think you will too. A committed and compassionate person, I look forward to helping you experience the total expression of health and lifestyle chiropractic adjustments provide.

Doc Asks some important questions of interest to Walled Lake residents - Chiropractor Walled Lake Doc Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Walled Lake parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
